Ishita Black B.B.S. / MFGDP(UK) / MFDSRCS(Edin)
Ishita graduated from Bristol University in 2002, she completed her vocational training in Nottingham and continued to work in general practice the following year. During this year she completed her exams to become a member of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners. And the following year, she worked as a Senior House Officer in the Maxillofacial department of Kingsmill Hospital where she treated patients who were referred from local practices for various oral surgery procedures including difficult extractions. During this post, she studied to become a member of The Royal College of Surgeons. Following her year in hospital she worked for 2 years in the Community Dental Service and treated patients who were referred from local practices due to extreme anxiety, behavioral problems or complex medical conditions. In 2008, Ishita and Gordon became the principal dentists at Hertford Dental Care.
Ishita enjoys treating patients of all ages and has had experience looking after patients who are particularly anxious and those with special needs. Along with general dentistry, she uses invisible orthodontics to align crowded teeth and have an interest in improving the appearance of the smile using various cosmetic techniques.
In her spare time, Ishita enjoys playing with her son Rowan, she also enjoys photography, swimming and shoe shopping!
For continuous professional development, she is currently taking part in a 12 month programme in restorative and cosmetic dentistry with Dr Ian Cline & Joe Oliver in London. The course teaches the very latest techniques in the provision of this exciting branch of dentistry.
