Dermal fillers and facial aesthetics – the perfect complement to cosmetic dental treatment

Dermal fillers provide an excellent choice for wrinkle reduction and plumping up of the skin. At Hertford Dental Care we offer a number of facial aesthetics treatments, designed to combat the premature signs of ageing without the need to go under the surgeon’s knife.

Facial aesthetics – dermal fillers and Botox – have caused something of a revolution in the anti-ageing industry. Not so long ago, the only way to get rid of unwanted lines, wrinkles, and folds, was to have plastic surgery. This was very expensive, which meant it was out of reach for most people. Additionally, albeit that they were very small, all types of surgery comes with risks, which was enough to put some people who could afford it off.

We use the popular Juvéderm system of dermal fillers at our Hertford clinic. Dermal fillers work by replacing lost hyaluronic acid and/or collagen from beneath the surface of the skin, restoring a natural-looking plumped up and rejuvenated appearance.

Hyaluronic acid is lost from the skin as we get older. Dietary factors such as drinking too much alcohol or not drinking enough water, along with spending too much time in the sun without wearing adequate protection can all play a contributory role, whilst habits such as smoking can cause permanent lines to appear around the lips.

These so called “smoker’s lines” are one of the areas we can treat with dermal fillers or other facial aesthetics procedures at our Hertford clinic.

Unlike other facial aesthetics procedures such as Botox, with dermal fillers the results will be visible instantly. Suitable areas for treatment at our Hertford clinic include:

  • Neck
  • Lips
  • Cheeks
  • Under the eyes
  • Forehead

When you come into Hertford Dental Care for a facial aesthetics consultation, your practitioner will discuss the merits of both dermal fillers and Botox, so that you can choose the most appropriate option to suit your needs.

Whilst results aren’t permanent, they can last six months or more.
